Group Description
Purpose: For those new to AI in healthcare or exploring initial use cases and foundational knowledge before committing to major investments.
Description: This group serves as an entry point for understanding the basics of AI in healthcare, identifying potential problems AI can solve, and assessing an organization’s preparedness for AI adoption. It’s about building foundational knowledge and exploring possibilities.
Intended Use: To help individuals and organizations determine if AI is a viable solution for their challenges, understand fundamental concepts, and begin the process of identifying and prioritizing potential AI initiatives.
Limitations: This group is for the initial phase of exploration. Once a project is approved for full implementation, discussions should move to “Implementation & Integration” (2.2). It is not for detailed technical development or specific clinical applications.
Key Activities:
Discussions on fundamental AI concepts and terminology relevant to healthcare.
Brainstorming sessions for identifying healthcare problems that AI could address.
Sharing checklists and frameworks for organizational AI readiness assessments.
Reviewing successful pilot project examples to inspire new initiatives.
Potential Users: Healthcare Leader/Administrator, Clinician/Practitioner, IT & Infrastructure Professional, Students, AI Innovator/Developer (especially those new to healthcare context).
Possible Discussions: “What are the absolute basics of AI I need to know as a hospital administrator?”, “How do we identify the ‘low-hanging fruit’ for AI adoption in our clinic?”, “Assessing our data infrastructure for AI readiness – where do we start?”
Other Important Notes: This is often the first stop for newcomers to the AI adoption process, offering a less intimidating environment to grasp core ideas.
